Death of Aged Citizen

Erick (Grunstad) Thompson died at his home in Roland Sunday forenoon at an advance age of 85 years.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from Salems church.

OBITUARY

Erick (Grunstad) Thompson was born in Etna, Norway, on September 12, 1835, and died at his home at Roland on Sunday, March 20, being 86 years of age at the time of his death.

In 1870 he with his family emigrated to this country, settling first on a farm near Story City. The same year his wife passed to the great beyond. A year later he purchased a farm three miles north of Roland where he continued to live until 1903, when he moved to Roland. In 1882 he was married to Martha Thorson, who now together with one sone, Oliver Thompson, are left to mourn his death.

Funeral services were held from Salems church on Tuesday afternoon, March 22. Interment took place in the Roland cemetery.
