HIRAM E. EMERY DIES TUES. NIGHT
Hiram E. Emery, 70 years old, Ames contractor and carpenter died at 10 o'clock Tuesday night at his home, 3203 Wilson avenue. Death was attributed to heart failure. Mr. Emery had been down town during the day and was taken ill suddenly in the evening.
Mr. Emery was born in Nevada, the son of John and Amanda Emery, and lived there and in Ames until he moved to Deep River in 1884. In 1889 he married Amanda Brown at Deep River. In 1908 the family returned to Ames.
The wife survives, and with her, one son, Orville of Detroit, three brothers, F. P. Emery of Ames, William S. Emery of Primghar, and Charles T. Emery of Cherokee, and one daughter, Mrs. Florence Miranda of Primghar.
Mr. Emery was a member of Masonic lodges here.
