OBITUARY OF MRS. HAMM

Was Native of County Clare, Ireland, Age 86.

Special to the Journal:
Colo, Aug. 8.--Mrs. Hamm, who died at her home here a week ago was born Anne Moulton, in County Clare, Ireland, October 24, 1837, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. O. McCoy, near Colo, July 29, 1924, age 56 years, 9 months and 7 days.

With her parents she came to America when 10 years of age, locating in Stephenson County, Ill. She was united in marriage with Andrew Hamm June 25, 1862. To this union 8 children were born, two dying in infancy and Louis at the age of 10 years. In 1879 the family moved to southeast New Albany where Mr. Hamm died November 20, 1892. Mrs. Hamm was a lifelong member of the Catholic church. Her quiet and kind disposition made friends of all who knew her. She leaves to mourn her loss five children: John and Will of Fairbury, Nebr., Charles and Frank of Armour, S. D., and Mrs. A. O. McCoy of Colo, besides 13 grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at St. Mary's church in Colo on Thursday morning. Requiem High Mass was read by Father Nichols and interment was made beside her husband in St. Marys cemetery, Nevada. Relatives from out of town in attendance at the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. John Hamm and daughter Mildred and Will Hamm of Fairbury, Nebr., Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hamm and daughter, Ionella and Frank Hamm of Armour, S. D., Mr. and Mrs. Frank Barron, of Carroll, William Barron of Alvord, Ed Barron of Rock Rapids and Miss Jennie Hamm of Freeport, Illinois.
