The early train Monday, brought the body of Albert S. Liddle who was killed in a wreck on the Freemont, Elkhorn & Missouri Valley R. R. A handcar loaded with iron was left on the track, and it being down grade, the train could not be stopped and it collided with the handcar. Seven cars together with the engine were derailed. The engineer was badly injured and the fireman was killed. His body was covered by sand to the depth of three feet and two hours elapsed before it was extricated. The train consisted of fourteen cars of live stock. The funeral was attended at this place at ten o'clock, Monday morning. Rev. Mr. Everly, of Ames, officiating in the absence of the pastor Rev. E. C. Moulton....Rev. E. C. Moulton holds service here at two o'clock next Sabbath....Mr. Frank Liddle, who came with the body of his brother, returned to his field of labor, Wednesday night.
