From the Ames Intelligencer, Ames, Story County, Iowa, June 29, 1877.

Friday evening last a son of J. K. La Rue of Colo, was drowned in East Indian creek while in bathing. He was about fourteen years of age. The funeral services were held Sunday last. The Mr. La Rue and family, in the affliction, the sympathy of friends and neighbors are heavily extended.
