DEATH OF MRS. TOM McGUIRE

Sunday afternoon, Mr. and Mrs. Tom McGuire and Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Wickersham went to the home of Wallace and Hattie McCollom, west of town. Then all went to the timber on their farm and were picking nuts and wild grapes. While in the timber they ran across Henry Hemping and Robt. Jack, who were hunting squirrels, and they joined the party. Some fine grapes were growing on a vine in one of the large trees. Hemping climbed the tree and was sitting on a limb to lower it so the others could reach the grapes. While he sat there motionless the limb broke of between him and tree without the least warning. The limb struck Mrs. McGuire in such a way as to break her collar bone and paralyze the nerves of her entire body from the neck down. Hempings' ankle was badly sprained in the fall. Mrs. McCollom was taken to the McCollom home at once and Dr. Goodenow summoned.

All that skilled and loving hands could do was done for her, but she was claimed by death at about ten o'clock Monday morning. She remained conscious and was able to talk with her family and friends to the last. Hemping was brought to his home in Colo and he can go about without crutches.

Bridget Donnolly, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. N. Donnolly, was born at Freeport, Ill., December 27, 1860, and died at Colo, September 27, 1920, aged 59 years and 9 months. She was united in the holy bonds of matrimony to Thomas McGuire, June 20, 1883, at Freeport. She is survived by her husband, her aged mother, five sisters--Mrs. Jas. Carmody of Freeport, Ill.; Mrs. A. J. Blink of Nichols, Wis.; Mrs. J. W. Orr, and Misses Margaret and Kathryn Donnolly, of Colo, and one brother, John Donnolly, of Colo, besides numerous other relatives.

Mrs. McGuire was always ready and willing to lend a hand to those in need and her quick wit and pleasant words and smiles have cheered many a one when they were sick or in trouble, and many hearts are deeply grieved as well as shocked by her sudden death.

Funeral services were held at St. Mary's church at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning, conducted by Father Nichols.
