OBITUARY OF MRS. GUGE

Wife and Mother of Ten Children Laid to Rest

Mrs. Elnathan Guge* nee Jones was born July 17, 1874 in Boone county, Iowa and died at the home of her daughter near Story City Feb. 22, 1928, having reached the age of 53 years, 7 months and 5 days.

She was married to Elnathan Guge* May 29, 1893 at Iowa Center. To this union ten children were born and one died in infancy. The children are: Mrs. Harry Louks of Story City, Mrs. Willie Haynes of Havanna, Kansas, Guy Guge of Independence, Kansas, Mrs. Grant Fuller of Cleveland, Ohio, Mrs. Edd Anderson of Boone, Iowa, Levi Guge of Colo, John, Eldon and Phyllis of Nevada.

Besides these who mourn her departure are four sisters and three brothers, Mrs. Fannie Haynes of Boone, Mrs. Clara Kimball* of Boone, Mrs. Lena Maroney and Mrs. Guy Myers of Nevada. The brothers are Leo Jones of Des Moines, Frank of Bourton and John of Nevada. There are also eight grandchildren.

Mrs. Guge was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Jones. Mr. and Mrs. Guge spent all of their married life in Story county except eleven years when they were in Minnesota.

The sickness which terminated in Mrs. Guge's death is of long standing. About ten years ago diabetes set in. During the last few months she has been very weak and with the flu setting in the end was hastened.

Under the ministry of Rev. Charles Pickford, Mrs. Guge was converted and united with the Evangelical church at Iowa Center. From there her membership was transferred to Nevada.

Funeral services were held Friday by Rev. Wackerbarth at the Evangelical church, this city.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Martha Chapman Jones was married to Nathaniel Plate Guge (not Elnathan Guge as stated) on 29 May 1893 in Iowa Center, Story County, Iowa. Clara Louise Jones married Edgar Francis Kemble (not Kimball as stated) on 27 September 1905 in Fayette County, Pennsylvania.
