Jon Weintz, age 64, of Nevada, Iowa, died Monday, August 12, 2019, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames.

Per his wishes, Jon has been cremated and no services will be held at this time. Condolences may be expressed online at www.amesmonument.com.

Jon Charles Weintz was born December 30, 1954, in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Clair and Laticia (Austermiller) Weintz. He graduated from Valley High School in West Des Moines in 1973, then earned his bachelor's degree from Iowa State University. Jon made his home in Nevada and worked many years at Iowa State University.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Don Weintz.

Survivors include his sister-in-law, Kathleen Weintz of Frisco, TX; and other extended family members and friends.

Ames Monument & Cremation Center has been entrusted with the care of Jon and his family.
