Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.

Mark J. Weist , 64, of Goldfield Iowa, passed away on August 26, 2019 at Israel Family Hospice House.
He was Born in Greenville Ohio on July 25, 1955 to Deloris Weist and Roger(Elva) Weist. Mark was preceded in death by his wife Julie, whom he married on April 5, 1987.

Mark was a very loving and faithful husband to Julie. They were married at the Chapel of the Bells in Lake Tahoe where they also traveled there and renewed their vows. He was a loving father and Grandfather (pop-pop) and those memories will be cherished.

Mark had a successful career in the egg processing industry that allowed for him to live and adventure in California, Florida, Hawaii and Iowa. Much of his career he worked along side his brother, Steve. They shared a lot of laughs, banter and had an unforgettable bond. Most recently he worked with Centrum Valley Farms where he had many dear friends.

Mark played football high school and enjoyed watching football. He was also into car racing and participated in a racing league with friends for more than ten years. His nickname was “bump” and from the stories I believe he may have lived up to that name on the virtual track.

Mark never met a stranger and talked to everyone as if he knew them. He was charming and funny and truly enjoyed meeting people and sharing a laugh. He was one of a kind.

He is survived by his three daughters: Tanna Cain of Ames Iowa, Shawna Perreira and her husband Nic of Greenville Ohio, Kassie Puderbaugh and her husband Jake of Greenville Ohio; his grandchildren: Magdalene and Emme Cheney of Ames Iowa, Brooke , Nathan , Luke Perreira, Madison, Briana, Grant Puderbaugh, and Tanner Leichty all of Greenville Ohio; his sister Nancy Weist of Greenville Ohio; his brother Steve Weist and wife Annette of Goldfield Iowa, and brother David Weist of Englewood Ohio.

Mark did not wish for a traditional funeral service. A visitation will be held at Adams Funeral Home on Saturday, September 7, 2019 from 1-3:00 PM.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Adams Funeral Home and online condolences may be left at www.adamssoderstrum.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mark’s name may be directed to the Israel Family Hospice House.
