Gilbert Dale Moller
Nov. 6, 1933, to Dec. 25, 1996Gilbert Dale Moller, 63, of Nevada, died of heart failure on Thursday, Dec. 26, 1996, at his home.
He was born to Emil F. and Nina Pearl (Cavance) Moller on Nov. 6, 1933, in Wessington, S.D. He grew up in Platte, S.D., and moved to Iowa 1963. He had lived in Nevada since 1972.
On March 25, 1957, he married Ruth Gerlach in Luverne, Minn. He served three years in the U.S. Infantry and 18 months in Korea. He served as a sergeant. His occupation was being self employed in agriculture. He was a longtime member of the Kiwanis club, a member of Memorial Lutheran Church and he served on the parks and recreation board.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth, of Nevada; two sons, Dave D. Moller, of Westfield, Ind., and Alan D. Moller, of Cedar Rapids; one daughter Cindy L. Wakefield, of Ames; three grandchildren; his stepmother, Yvonne Moller, of Platte, S.D.; five brothers, Frank of San Diego, Calif., Gary of Hot Springs, S.D., Henry, of Hot Spirngs, S.D, Bill, of Mitchell, S.D., and Keith, of Larchwood; and a sister, Nina Wynia, of Hot Springs, S.D.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Clinton.
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 30, at 11 a.m. at Memorial Lutheran Church with Pastor Ellen Taube officiating. Burial was in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established. Chet Ryan Mortuary, Nevada, handled arrangements.
