Mrs. Alta Gingles Services Held Sunday at Collins

Funeral services for Mrs. Alta Gingles were held from the Collins Methodist church Sunday afternoon at 1:30 with Rev. Robert P. Robinson officiating.

The soloists were Mrs. Kenneth Tomlinson and Calla Wood accompanied by Mrs. C. R. Stone.

The Collins Eastern Star Lodge held services at the church.

Mrs. William Rumbaugh and Mrs. Aura Shelbley had charge of the flowers.

The casket bearers were Wm. Fitzgerald, Lloyd Holland, Dewey Kern, G. R. Stone, Kenneth Tomlinson and R. W. Vasey. Burial was made in the Evergreen cemetery, Collins, Iowa.

Obituary

Alta Kintz Gingles was born Feb. 16, 1875 at the home place south of Clyde, in Jasper county, Iowa, the daughter of Commodore Perry Kintz and Martha Ann Kintz, and departed this life on Feb. 25, 1954 at her home in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was one of a family of 12 children, all of whom preceded her in death but her youngest brother, Oley A. Kintz of Memphis, Tenn. At the age of 13 she moved with her family from the farm to the new hotel which her father had built in Collins.

On July 1, 1894 she was united in marriage to James Gray Gingles, who passed away in 1937. To this union were born two children, Mary Helen who died in 1936 and George W. who survives. She was a member of the Collins Methodist church and was a faithful and devoted worker until her departure in 1947 to make her home with her son in Stuart, Iowa. From there she went with him to Tulsa in 1948. She was a 50 year member of the Easter Star Chapter in Collins and always retained many happy memories of her association with this lodge. Her son, George and his wife, Olivia, along with her brother, Oley A. Kintz and several nieces and nephews mourn her passing and wich her rest in peace with God.
