Funeral Services For Chas. Wickham Held At Zearing

Funeral services for Charles Oren Wickham were held on Monday afternoon, Sept. 17, at the Evangelical church at 2 o'clock with Rev. C. L. Fuller in charge. The casket bearers were Joe Roche, Arthur Couser, Delos Dakins, Harry Wolford, Manley Dakins, and Thore Langland.

Mrs. Donald Grimm, Mrs. Harry Wolford and Mrs. Delos Dakins took care of the flowers. Miss Paul John and Mrs. Myrtle Martin sang "Rock of Ages", "Abide With Me:, "Only A Dream." Mrs. Doyles Risse was at the piano.

Obituary
Charles Oren Wickham, son of Horatio and Pauline Wickham, was born January 29, 1869, and passed away at the Ellsworth Hospital in Iowa Falls at the age of 76 years, 7 months, and 17 days. His death came following a recent stroke. He was born on the Wickham homestead one-half mile west of the place where he has spent his entire life, excepting three years which he lived in Zearing, working at the carpenter trade.

He was united in marriage to Jessie Madole on December 24, 1907. To this union one son was born. He was a faithful member of the United Evangelical Church of Zearing, and attended faithfully, taking part in church and Sunday School work, until the decline of his health.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his son Everet and wife Laurene and five grandchildren, Lucile, Dorothy, Elouise, Jane and Robert, four sisters, Lydia Arrasmith, Jennie Phillips, and Lulu Cerka of Zearing and Anna Wickham of Nevada, also one brother, Cornell Wickham of Floyd, Va. There are also forty niece and nephews. His wife, Jessie, died May 14, 1918. Four brothers, five sisters and his parents preceded him in death.

He taught school for several years in the neighborhood of Story City and Zearing. He also worked in the elevator business for several years before he was married and later owned and operated the store now owned by Ingval Madison for a short time after the death of his wife. He lived the last 19 years with his son Everet on the farm.
