Claire Rouse, 17, of Ames, Iowa passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2019.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 18, 6:30-9:00 pm at Reiman Gardens, Ames, Iowa. A Celebration of Life service will be Friday, July 19, 1:00 pm at St. Andrews Church, Ames, Iowa.
Claire Rene Rouse was born on November 15, 2001 in Des Moines, Iowa. She was the daughter of David and Janelle (Johnson) Rouse. Claire attended school in the Ames Community School District and was about to begin her senior year of high school. She was also attending DMACC. Claire was actively involved in school and community activities. She loved music, French, math, children, volunteering and her cat, Artemis. Most of all, she loved her parents, sisters, extended family and friends. Her volunteer work included the Red Cross, the Mayor’s Youth Council and Hope Lutheran Church. She was actively involved in “GirlUp” at Ames High School. Claire was passionate about empowering girls and young women. She lived her life with a simple, yet powerful, mission. She was kind and compassionate, a great listener and encourager. Most importantly, Claire was an unfailing friend to everyone. Claire was loved by many.
Left to cherish Claire’s memory are her parents, Janelle and David Rouse, sisters Ella and Avery, grandparents, Jay and Ginny Wangerin, Dennis and Elaine Johnson, and a loving circle of aunts, uncles, cousins, and many, many friends.
In death Claire joins her grandparents Audrey and Thomas Rouse.
