Ernest French Dies, Last Rites Friday

Ernest G. French, 94 year old former Fernald Station man and lifelong Story County resident died yesterday afternoon at the Story County Hospital where he had been hospitalized for the past week.

French was born July 23, 1870 to Henry C. and Sarah A. French. He had farmed in the Shipley community for almost 60 years, lived in Fernald for four years and most recently was a patient at Borton's Nursing Home for the past four years. He was a member of the Nevada Methodist Church.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews and was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, four sisters and his wife, Edna, who died December 15, 1960.

Funeral services will be held at the Ryan Funeral Home on Friday at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. M. C. Shupe officiating. Burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery.
