Mrs. Isabelle Opstvedt

Mrs. Isabelle Opstvedt was born in Skaanevik, Norway on the 25 day of February 1945 and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ed Egeland on the 3rd day of January, 1922 being seventy-seven years, ten months and nine days old at the time the summons came.

She was a daughter of Ole and Betsey Ness, and came to this country at the age of five years and her early home was at Lisbon, Ill., after living there a number of years they moved to Story county coming to a farm near Roland.

On September 5, 1864 she was united in marriage to Sjur Opstwedt, and settled down two miles north of Roland. To this union nine children were born.

Her husband and six children have preceded her to the Great Beyond. She leaves to mourn her death three children Mrs. Ed Egeland of Roland, Mrs. T. H. Torkelson of Story City and Joe Opstvedt, Eagle Grove and seventeen grand children and three great grand children and one sister, Mrs. Betsey Sheldahl of Roland.

She was a kind and loving mother and grandmother and was honored by her many friends who will miss her.

Funeral services were held at Bergen's church Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock by Rev. M. O. Sumstad. Interment was made in the Roland cemetery.
