Funeral Rites Held For Andrew Coughenour

Andrew F. Coughenour, son of Solomon and Margaret Elizabeth Coughenour, was born December 9, 1866 in Johnson county, Iowa, and passed away at the age of 86 years, 8 months and 21 days.

At an early age he move with his parents to a farm near Iowa Center, Iowa, where he made his home until the time of his marriage to Artie G. Rinehart of Colo, Iowa, on March 24, 1897.

To this union were born four children, Leslie of Maxwell, Ia., Mrs. Freda Boster of Ames, Ia., Mrs. Sylvia McIntyre of Des Moines, Ia., and Ronald of Albia, Iowa.

From the time of his marriage Mr. Coughenour farmed near Colo and Maxwell, Iowa, until 1935 when he and his wife moved to Des Moines. Here they lived together until Mrs. Coughenour's death on July 1, 1950. From that time he lived at his home at 2420 E. Lyon St., until recently, when due to illness he came to stay with his daughter, Mrs. Sylvia McIntyre on John Patterson Road. During the time he lived in Des Moines, Mr. Coughenour was affiliated with the Simpson Methodist church.

In addition to his children Mr. Coughenour is survived by ten grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
