Final Rits In Des Moines For Mrs. A. Coughenour

DES MOINES -- Funeral services were held Monday, July 3, at 1:30 p.m. at the Simpson Methodist church in Des Moines for Mrs. Andrew F. Coughenour of Des Moines, formerly of the Colo community, who died July 1 after a brief illness.

Rev. Dale Williams of the Simpson Methodist church in Des Moines was in charge of the services, brought comfort to the bereaved family. Mrs. Ruth Utter provided the music, singing "Good Morning Up There."

Casket bearers were the grandsons, Forrest, Vernon and Edwin Coughenour, Eugene Boster, Richard Moss and George Ochanpaugh.

The many beautiful flowers were mute testimony to the love and esteem in the hearts of friends and relatives of Mr. Coughenour.

Interment was in the Iowa Center cemetery where many who were unable attend the services in Des Moines gathered to pay their last respects.

Survivors

Mrs. Coughenour is survived by her husband, Andrew of Des Moines, four children, Leslie of Maxwell, Ronald of Albia, Mrs. Sylvia McIntyre of Des Moines and Mrs. Freda Boster of Ames, ten grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Jessie Flemming of Colo.

Obituary

Artie Rinehart, daughter of Simon P. and Elizabeth Rinehart, was born August 30, 1873 near Colo, Ia., and passed July 1, 1950, at the age of 76 years, 10 months and one day.

All of her early life had been spent in and around Colo except for one year at Maxwell. On March 24, 1897, she was united in marriage to Andrew Fredric Coughenour at Colo. Mr. Coughenour had lived most of his life in the same community.

To this union were born four children, Leslie, Ronald, Sylvia and Freda.

Mrs. Coughenour, who was one of the early member s of the Dalton United Brethren church, later transferred her membership to the Maxwell Methodist church. The last fifteen years, while a resident of Des Moines, she had become affiliated with the Simpson Methodist church in Des Moines.
