DEATH OF MATHEW C. REAGAN.

Story County Man Passed Away on Saturday.

Mathew C. Reagan, for over twenty years a resident of Story county, died a the home of his son A. G. Reagan near Aredale, in Franklin county Saturday afternoon at 4:0-. The body was prepared for burial and brought to this city last night over the Rock Island and the funeral will be held from the Church of Christ this afternoon at 2:30, the services being conducted by Rev. George Henry pastor of the church, assisted by John L. Brand Jr., pastor of the Church of Christ at Maxwell.

Mr. Reagan was a native of Pennsylvania, being the youngest of seventeen children of James and Rachel Reagan. He was born Feb. 17, 1847. He came to Iowa with his parents when but a child and was married to Mary L. Plumb at Newton in 1867. The family home was in Union township until twenty years ago, when they came to Story county. There were six children born to this union, five of whom are still living, the one deceased being Mrs. Ella Drake, who died a number of years ago. The wife and mother died in this city in 1908.

The children who are left to mourn the parents are Mrs. John Harding of New London, Mrs. Will T. Norris of this city, A. G. Reagan of Aredale, John Reagan of near this city and G. C. Reagan of Sheffield.

For several years past Mr. Reagan had been living at Maxwell, and had been suffering from heart trouble for a year or more. He was in Nevada a few days ago and visited at the home of his daughter, after which he visited in northern Iowa with the sons. He had been a member of the Church of Christ since a boy seventeen years old. The surviving children and grandchildren will receive the heartfelt sympathy of all in their hours of bereavement.
