Ole J. Kalsem Dies Saturday at Home In Huxley

Huxley, Jan. 10--Ole J. Kalsem, 74, native son of this community died at his home in Huxley, Saturday evening at 7 o'clock, following an illness of over a year.

Ole Kalsem was born December 10, 1889, on a farm northwest of Huxley, a son of John and Martha Kalsem, and was a prominent farmer in that part of the county until 15 years ago, when he retired from the farm and moved into Huxley.

He was baptized and confirmed in the Fjelland church of Huxley in which he had always been an active and useful member, always taking an active part in everything which was of benefit to the community in which he had spent his entire lifetime.

He is survived by his wife Anna, and four children, they being Millie Kalsem of Chicago, Mrs. Elmer Larson of Slater, Mrs. Jeverna Berhow of Huxley and Orval Kalsem of Huxley. A daughter, Medelia Melassa, preceded him in death. He also leaves 10 grandchildren, a brother, John Kalsem of Huxley and sisters, Mrs. O. B. Olson of California and Mrs. K. B. Nelson of Cambridge.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Fjeldberg church in Huxley and burial will be in the Fjeldberg cemetery.
