Obituary.
Richard Colson died at his home in this city last Sunday, Nov. 1st, 1896. He has been sick for eight years and for the past five years confined to the house. His malady was progressive paralysis. Mr. Colson was born in 1832 in County Fermanagh, Ireland. He came to New York City about 1850 where he remained until 1870 when he came to Nevada, Iowa. He returned to New York in 1873, but came back in 1877 as a permanent resident. He was married to Maria Judge who with two sons and two daughters survives the husband and father. Mr. Colson was a mason by occupation and a kindly and honorable man. He bore his ling illness with patience and was gratified for the faithful care given him by his family. His funeral services were conducted at the house, Monday, by Rev. Mr. Austin. The family express sincere thanks to friends and neighbors for kindly attention and services given in their time of trouble and bereavement.
