Another old and respected citizen passed away May 11, when grandmother Hefley died at the home of her son John Hefley after an illness of about two weeks. She was born in New York state, in 1821, moved with her parents to Michigan returned to New York, moved to Illinois, was married about 1847-- and moved to Story county, Iowa in 1854, to Kansas in 1882 and returned to Colo in 1892. Her husband died in the South during the war January 6th 1863, and is burried in a National Cemetery. She leaves three sons John, Robert and William of this place and one daughter, Mrs. Wyatt of Kansas, besides one brother and one sister and a large number of friends to mourn her loss. The funeral took place Saturday in the M. E. church, she being a Methodist. Rev. John Elliott of Boone conducted the services. The remains were laid to rest in the Colo cemetery.
