Mrs. Howard Willson Burial In Colo Tues.
Funeral services for Mrs. Howard Willson were held Tuesday afternoon, March 31, 1953, at the Methodist church in Albia with the Rev. G. S. Bruland conducting the service. Interment was in the Colo cemetery with O. E. S. Isabelle chapter 271 of Colo in charge. Prayer by the Rev. Alta Nichols and benediction by the Rev. Bruland.
Mrs. Guy Moser sang two songs, "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere," and "Some Day We'll Understand," accompanied by Esther Hultner at the organ.
Casket bearers were D. W. Hamerin, R. E. Foster, Frank Milligan, R. E. Elder, Gene Angove and John Landsperger.
Obituary
Vera Anna Wyatt was born Dec. 26, 1904, at Colo, Iowa, and passed away at her home at Albia, Iowa, on March 28, 1953, at the age of 48 years, three months and two days, following a heart attack.
She was one of five children born to Mr. and Mrs. Rollin Wyatt. The father preceded her in death in 1944.
Vera's childhood was spent at Colo where she attended the Colo Consolidated school and was enrolled in a business course in Des Moines for a while.
Vera Anna Wyatt was united in marriage to Howard Willson of Morning Sun on March 20, 1930, at the Little Brown church in Nashua. To this union were born on son Earl. Their early married life was spent around Colo where Vera was active in church work, having joined the Colo Methodist church at an early age, and was a member of the Clover Leaf club.
Mr. and Mrs. Willson spent one year in Russia on an agricultural program. They lived four years in Lamoni where Mr. Willson began his teaching career before coming to Albia. For the last twelve years Mr. and Mrs. Willson have lived in Albia where Vera transferred her church membership to the Albia Methodist church. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Albia Chapter No. 240, Queen Esther Shrine No. 36 of the Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem, Federated Women's club of Albia, the Idle Hour club and the Sew and So club.
Survivors are the husband and son Earl age 15 at home; her mother, Mrs. Ann Wyatt age 86, of Colo, three sisters and one brother. The sisters are (Mary) Mrs. C. E. Rasmusson of Zearing, (Kathryn) Mrs. W. M. McBride and (Bernice) Mrs. Roy Morell of Colo. The brother William Wyatt resides at Winterset. She also leaves a host of relatives and friends.
