Funeral Services for Olava K. Christianson Wednesday, June 6

Funeral services for Mrs. Olava K. Christianson were held at the Pearson home, 223 N. Franklin Avenue, Ames, at 12:30 p. m. and 2 p. m. on Wednesday June 6 form the Stavanger Lutheran church at Garden City, with Rev. Joseph L. Knutson of Ames, Rev. H. N. Bakka of McCallsburg and Rev. P. L. Mork of Garden City officiating. Interment was in the Garden City cemetery.

Mrs. Olava K. Christianson passed away at 2:45 a. m., Sunday June 3rd, at the age of 79 years. She had been ill since last November and death was caused by a heart ailment. She died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Hazel Pearson, 223 North Franklin, Ames, Iowa, where she had been making her home.

Mrs. Christianson was born Jan. 23, 1866, at Haugesund, Norway. She was married Mar. 28, 1892, to John Christianson, and came with her husband to the United States in 1895, settling in Newark, Ill. They moved to Radcliffe in 1900, to Hardin county in 1934, to Story county in 1944, where she has since made her home. Mrs. Christianson was a member of the Stavanger Lutheran church in Garden City, and charter member of the Ladies' Aid Society in the congregation.

Her husband preceded her in death in March, 1935, and a son, Otto Christianson, died at Blue Earth, Minn., in 1942.

Surviving her are three daughters, Mrs. Maggie Christopherson, and Mrs. Hazel Pearson of Ames, and Mrs. Agnes Schulenburg of Blue Earth, Minn.; a sister, Mrs. Martha Velde, in Norway; also eighteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
