Death of Morris D. Nash
Morris D. Nash, an old resident of the Sheffield neighborhood of Howard township, died Monday at his home in Story City in the 70th year of his age. The deceased was a native of New York state, a nephew of Dr. Ballard and a cousin of the present generation of Ballards in Story county and elsewhere. He came to Story county during the civil war and here married Rose Chandler. They lived in the Sheffield neighborhood until some half-dozen years ago, when they removed to Story City. Mr. Nash was a most worthy citizen and much esteemed in his community. He leaves his wife and five children, Mrs. Peter Bickelhaupt of LaFayette township; and son Abner in Wyoming and sons William, Frank and Sidney of Story City. His funeral will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at Story City and the interment will be in the Sheffield cemetery.
SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Morris Dewitt Nash was the son of Horace Nash and Mary Beecher. He was the nephew of the wife of Dr. Moses Ballard, referred to above. Dr. Ballard's wife was Eliza Beecher, sister to Mary Beecher, Morris Nash's mother.
