Gaylord L. Stowe

Gaylord L. Stowe of Des Moines died of cancer at the Kavanagh Hospice House on Dec. 9. He had lived at the Hospice House for 10 years.

He was born in Nevada and had lived in Nevada. He had worked as a research metallergist at Iowa State University and had retired in 1983. He served in the Army/Air Corp during World War II. He was a member of V.F.W., Masons and United Methodist Church in Nevada.

Survivors include his wife, Rhoda, of Des Moines, two children, William of Des Moines and Dorothy Hanneman of Newton; three grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 11, at Hamilton's Funeral Home Chapel in Des Moines. Burial was in the White Oak Cemetery, Elkhart. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa.
