Madelyn Roberta (Hinderaker) Miller
August 8, 1930 – January 29, 2019

Madelyn Roberta Miller, 88, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at Israel Hospice House. She was born August 8, 1930, in Radcliffe, Iowa to Irwin and Sylvia “Agnes” Hinderaker. She met “Ike” upon his return home from his time in the Navy. The couple was married and blessed with children. The couple remained in the Ames area to raise their children.

Madelyn was a full time homemaker and enjoyed her time raising the children and helping out on the family farm as needed. She was an avid baker and took great pride in her Kringla and Sugar Cookies. She looked forward to the holidays and preparing family meals.

Madelyn had a love for animals, there was always a dog by her side, and cats roaming around the farm. She enjoyed her flower gardens and spent plenty of time canning the harvest of the yearly vegetable garden.

Madelyn was sweet and stoic. She loved her family and was a great wife, mother and grandmother.

Madelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Bobbie “Ike” and parents, Irwin and Sylvia Hinderaker; brothers Verdis Hinderaker, Vernon Hinderaker, Bernard Hinderaker, and Lowell Hinderaker; sister, Ethel Joan Hinderaker; infant daughter, Jody Lyn Miller.

She is survived by her children, Byrl Hinderaker, Judy (Jerry Cable Sr.) Miller, Sheila Miller and Tracy (Linda) Miller; step-daughter, Jeanne Miller; grandchildren, Bryce (Sarah) Hinderaker, Todd (Bobbi) Flemmer, Timothy Flemmer, Daniel Searcy, Evan Miller, Alicia (Mark Schlitz) Krehbiel, Michael (Marissa) Krehbiel; great-grandchildren, Kali Hinderaker, Dylan and Andrew Flemmer, Evangeline Searcy, Zachary Lindahl, Dakota Buse, Jesse Buse, Cole Krehbiel and Ayden Krehbiel; great-great-grandchildren, Elise Buse; sisters-in-law, Rosemary, Mary and Josephine Hinderaker, and Mable Meyers.
