DEATHS

FREIDA CAROLINE WALTER

Freida Caroline Walter, 81, 1429 J Ave., died Sunday, Oct. 2, 1983 at the Story County Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5 at the Nevada United Methodist Church with Rev. Ernest Larson officiating. Burial will be at the Nevada Cemetery.

Walter was born on March 10, 1902 to Christian and Elizabeth (Roeder) Richard in Streator, Ill. She completed elementary school at Kangley, Ill., before graduating from Streator (Ill.) High School.

On Feb. 7, 1924 she was married to Ernest R. Walter in Streator. Rev. and Mrs. Walter moved to Nevada in 1947, where he served the United Methodist Church. They also served churches in Maxwell, rural Loring, Afton, Luverne, Lansing and Bolan before retiring in 1960

She was a member of the United Methodist Church and P.E.O.

She is survived by her husband, Rev. Ernest Walter; one son, Harold Walter of Nevada; one daughter, Mrs. Dale (Ruth) Smith of Rembrandt; one sister, Mrs. Irving Hinkelman of Streator, Ill.; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded by her parents and one brother.
