Mrs. T. Thompson Funeral Services Held In Story City

Funeral services for Mrs. T. J. Thompson held Saturday, January 6th at 2 p.m. in the St. Petri Lutheran Church in Story City with Pastor George C. Strum officiating.

Mrs. Alfred Jacobson was at the organ Mrs. Robert Hermanson sang "Come To My Heart, Lord Jesus" and "In Heaven Above."

Burial was in the Story City Municipal cemetery. Pallbearers were Thomas Thompson, Peter Hermanson, Robert Thompson, Thomas Hermanson, Forest Buck and James Thompson.

Life Sketch

Mary Nelson, daughter of Ole and Anna Storedale Nelson was born in Norway, Europe on March 19, 1880 and died at the Story City Memorial Hospital on January 4 following a severe heart attack which she suffered several days previous. She had reached the age of 81 years and 10 months.

When she was four years old she came with her parents to America and settle in Story City. Later her parents moved to a farm near Lakota in Kossuth County in Iowa. Here she was united in marriage to Thomas J. Thompson on May 6, 1903. They immediately established their home on the farm south of Story City.

In 1943 they retired from the farm and moved into Story City to make their home where she has lived with her son, Leonard until her death.

She is survived by six children Mrs. Leonard (Mildred) Hermanson, Clarence, Leonard and Theodore Thompson, all of Story City, Alvin Thompson of Westminister, Calif. and Mrs. Arnold (Alice) Haugland of Nevada. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
