Funeral services for Miss Edith Mae Stubblefield, who passed away Wednesday evening at the Zene Stillman home in Nevada, where she had made her home for the past few years, were held from the Morfoot Funeral home on Saturday, Sept. 17.

The Rev. Hugh C. Guy, pastor of the Nevada Christian church, officiated at the rites. Burial was in the Nevada cemetery.

The favorite hymns of the deceased, "In the Garden" and "The Old Rugged Cross" were played, along with other favorite hymns in instrumental music.

Pall bearers were Stanley Fincham, Cecil Apple, A. L. Boten and Cory Kurtz.

Obituary

The following short obituary was read by Rev. Guy during the services: "Edith Mae Stubblefield was born at Archie, Mo., on May 21, 1899, and passed away at her home in Nevada, Wednesday evening, Sept. 14 at about 7 p. m., being 50 years, three months and 24 days old. Her parents and a brother preceded her in death several years ago.

"She will be remembered as a kind and loving person. She had been in poor health for years, being confined to her home most of the time. She was a member of the Christian church and in earlier days went to Bible school and church. She enjoyed the radio so much and on Sunday morning would always listen to church services and would often join in the singing.

For part of her pastime, through the years, she did fancy work, for she loved the beautiful and artistic in hand work, as well as in music.

Edith was a good little soul in the face of obstacles she had to encounter in life. We shall never know how much these things that exercise the soul enriched her life and her walk with God."

Survivors

She leaves to mourn her passing, two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Stillman of Nevada and Mrs. Ada Callup of Pasadena, Calif. She also leaves several nieces and nephews and other more distant relatives and friends.
