Funeral Services For Frank L. Senter Held Monday
Funeral services for Frank L. Senter were held from the Ryan Funeral Home Monday afternoon at 1:30 with the Rev. David Ash.
Three songs "Beyond the Sunset", "In the Garden" and "Asleep in Jesus" were sung by Mrs. Harry Sutherland accompanied on the organ by Mrs. Norman Dobson. The many floral offerings were cared for by Mrs. Gordon Barker and Mrs. Merle Dayhuff.
The casket bearers were Earl Barker, Merle Dayhuff, Harold Heintz, Tom Hemstock, Joe Sinkler and Charles Walker. Burial was made in the Nevada cemetery.
OBITUARY
Frank L. Senter was born the son of Thomas and Martha Jane Senter at Oakland, Illinois, Dec. 22, 1880. He moved to Iowa with his parents when he was 18 years old, at which time they settled on a farm just across the state line in Missouri.
He was married to Miss Mary Peterson near Cantril, Iowa, Feb. 15, 1902, and to this union two children were born: Clair M. Senter of Maxwell, Ia., and Mrs. Harry Northup of Ellsworth, Iowa. They lived on a farm near Cantril until 1916, at which time they moved on farm near Milton, Iowa. They continued to live there until 1931 when they moved on a farm near Newton, Iowa. They lived there until 1943 when they purchased the farm 5 1/2 miles south of Nevada where they continued to live, until Mrs. Senter's death.
Mr. Senter was actively engaged in farming and raising of Black Angus cattle in which he took a great pride.
He became a member of the Methodist Church at an early age and continued in that faith his entire life.
He is survived by his son, Clair M. Senter, and daughter, Mrs. Harry Northup, (6) grandchildren, (1) brother, William B. Senter of Ashmore, Illinois, (1) sister, Mrs. Mary B. Redden of Oakland, Illinois.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary Senter, June 23, 1953, (1) brother, Lewis Walter Senter, and (2) sister Cora B. Senter and Mrs. Lula A. Carrico.
Mr. Senter has been in failing health for the past two years. Since January of this year he has made his home with his daughter near Ellsworth but on Thursday evening at 11:50 death called him home.
