ERNEST PHIFER DIED YESTERDAY
YOUNG MAN PASSED AWAY AT HOSPITAL AT MINOK, NORTH DAKOTA.
Ernest Phifer, second son of Mr. and Mrs. George Phifer, died yesterday at a hospital at Minok, North Dakota, following from troubles arising from an infection which he had in his face.
The body will arrive in Nevada, Friday evening, short services having been held at his home at Drake before the funeral party leaves there.
The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 and probably from the Evangelical church after which interment will be in the Nevada cemetery.
Mr. Phifer lived at Drake, near Minok, was married and had been making that his home for some years. So far as his parents in this city knew he had been in his usual health. The first word to reach here came on Thursday when the father received a message telling him to join the other son in northern Ia., and come at once to Minok, where Ernest was in a hospital. This Mr. Phifer did and after arriving there wired back to Mrs. Phifer that the young man was better. On Monday another message was received state that he was worse again and Tuesday afternoon the message arrived telling of his death.
Mr. Phifer was the second of three sons of Mr. and Mrs. George Phifer and was well and most favorably known in the city as a boy and very young man.
The two brothers as well as the father were at Minok at the time of his death. Elmer having joined the father at Thompson and accompanied him, while the younger brother, Earl Phifer who is not at Fairmont, Minn., was there also.
