Last Rites Held Her For Mrs. Montgomery

Funeral services for Mrs. Genevieve Montgomery of Des Moines were held from the Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada at 11 o'clock with Dr. R. M. Shipman of Ames assisted by the Rev. David Ash of the Nevada Methodist church, officiating.

Mrs. Norman Dobson was a the organ playing a number of hymns before and after the service.

The casket bearers were Carl Christy, J. J. Donnellan, C. L. Gifford, Oscar Hall, Harold Tipton and Frank Vail.

Burial was in the family lot in the Nevada cemetery.

Obituary

Genevieve Minkler Montgomery, 80, was born in Milford township, Story county, Dec. 29, 1877 and deid at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Wendel in Des Moines, Tuesday at 10 p. m. where she had made her home since 1934.

Daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Minkler of Milford married to Charles C. Montgomery in Nevada, Jan. 19, 1898, making their home on a farm for a number of years and later in Nevada.

She was a member of the Nevada Methodist church and of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Paul Wendel and one grandson Gary Wendel, both of Des Moines.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1944, and by a son who died in infancy.

A large number of relatives and friends from Des Moines, Ames, Nevada, Colo and elsewhere were in attendance at the last rites.
