Rites Held Here For Mrs. Longnecker

Funeral services for Alice M. Longnecker who died at the Story County Hospital Monday, May 12, were held from the Ryan Funeral Home Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. Robert Spencer officiating.

Mrs. Lowell Johnson, organist played a number of selections throughout the service.

The casket bearers were E. P. Schindler, Gilbert Henry, M. J. Heusinkveld, H. M. Vinsel, L. R. White and C. F. Wilson. Burial was by her husband in Maxwell cemetery.

Obituary

Mrs. C. E. Longnecker was born July 4, 1871 of Henry and Priscilla Cole and was named Alice May. This occurred in Jasper County, Iowa, where she also had her schooling.

She was married to Charles E. Longnecker on March 3, 1890, near Farrar. To this union were born two sons and two daughters.

Mrs. Longnecker was a member of the Central Presbyterian church in Nevada.

She had been in failing health the past two years and at age of 87, she passed from this life while at the Story County Hospital, where she had been admitted a few hours earlier. Her death occurred at 8:00 o'clock Monday evening.

Mrs. Longnecker was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband in 1950, one son, Roscoe, two sisters, Hettie and Lizzie Cole, and a half-sister, Iva Lou McGinnis.

Those left to mourn her passing are one son, Ralph Longnecker of Denver, Colo.; two daughters, Mrs. F. A. Scott of Lincoln, Neb. and Mrs. C. J. Whitney of Nevada; five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
