Funeral Services Are Held Saturday For Harry Louks

Everett Harrison (Harry) Louks was born on the first day of January, 1888 in Clinton County, Indiana, the son of James Allen and Rachel Ann Christy.

He died on April 19, 1961 at the age of 73 years, 3 months and 19 days at his farm southeast of Nevada, Iowa.

Harry Louks had come to Story County in his early twenties and started farming.

Aug. 6, 1914 he was married to Mildred Guge at St. James, Minn. To this union was born, one son, Caroll.

Mr. Louks farmed two years at Dayton, Iowa and then moved to Story County where he resided in the Nevada community for the past 44 years.

He was a member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge of Nevada for a number of years and was a member of the Moose Lodge of Ames when he died.

Everett Harrison Louks is survived by his wife, Mildred, his son, Caroll, his son's wife, Maxine, of Nevada; two granddaughters, Linda Louks of Nevada, and Dixie, Mrs. Bill Fink, of Colo; one great grandson, Duwayne Fink; two brothers, P. O. Louks of Slater and Chester of Ames; two sisters, Edith Jennett of Hoopstown, Ill. and Sylvia Elliott of Ames.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Effie Denton, four brothers Frank and Marshall and two in infancy.

He will be greatly missed by his family, his neighbors and his many friends.

Funeral services for Everett Harrison Louks were held at the Ryan Funeral Home Saturday, April 22, 1961 at 2:00 p. m., with the Rev. Robert Link, pastor of the E. U. B. Church officiating.

Mrs. Wilma Sutherland, soloist, sang two songs, "The Lord's Prayer" and "The Old Rugged Cross". She was accompanied at the organ by Miss Beeula Settle.

The many beautiful floral offerings were cared for by Mrs. George Taylor and Mrs. Wendell Williams.

The casket bearers were Art Christy, Carl Christy, Freeman Christy, Herbert Christy, Jess Christy and Rollo Christy.

Burial was in the Nevada cemetery.
