Colo Man Dies From Auto Fumes

Rollin Gibbs, 28, Colo, an employee of Nevada Brick and Tile, was asphyxiated by carbon monoxide fumes in his garage early this morning. His body was found at 6 a.m. today by his wife.

Mr. and Mrs. Gibbs had a party at the house last evening and at 10 p.m. he had gone to town to buy anti-freeze. At midnight, dressed in houseslippers and coat, he went out to the double garage to put in the anti-freeze.

The examination by the Coroner brought the versict that Gibbs had been accidentally asphyxiated. He had run the motor with the garage doors closed against the zero cold. The fumes had lulled him to sleep and the car continued to run until it was out of gas. He never roused from his sleep.

*At 6 o'clock this morning his wife, awakened by the alarm clock found her husband missing, his bed unslept in. Gibbs, dressed and wearing his coat, was found slumped in the car dead. The gas tank of the car was empty. The anti-freeze was in the radiator.

Mrs. Gibbs called Sheriff Ivan Shalley and he and Deputy John Stark hurried there.

*Now employed in the Nevada tile factory, Gibbs had spent considerable time in the army. He married while in Germany and there are three children, 4, 3, and one year of age, Barbara, Ralph and Paul. His mother, Mrs. George Aadalin, River Falls, Wis., and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lew Givvs, Nevada, survive.

He returned here to live after discharge from the army two years ago last August.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
