Hold Final Rites For Mrs. L. Gere
A large number of relatives and friends attended the last rites in the Immanuel Lutheran church in Story City on Monday afternoon for Mrs. Loyd Gere, the former Sara Anderson, who died Thursday, May 5, at her home in Ralston, Nebraska.
Rev. A. O. Skibsrud officiated. James Charlson sang "Some Day We'll Understand." A duet number "God's Way Is the Best Way" was rendered by Mr. Charlson and Donald Boyd. Rev. Brantz, who conducted funeral services in Ralston on Sunday, also spoke briefly.
Interment was in the Story City cemetery. Serving as casket bearers were Miller Gertson, Merlin Anderson, Ansel Swenson, Ernest Johnson, Myron Rod and Emmett Olson.
Obituary
Sara T. Gere was born April 10, 1919, to Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Anderson and was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith in St. Paul's Lutheran church in Stanhope. She receid her high school diploma with the class of 1936. She attended Waldorf college in 1938 and 1939, during which time she was a soloist with the Waldorf choir.
She was united in marriage in 1941 to Lloyd J. Gere, since which time she has made her home with her husband and family in Baltimore, Md., and for past five years in Ralston, Nebraska.
She died suddenly from a heart ailment on May 5, 1949, at the age of 30 years and 25 days. She was a devoted and faithful member at the time of her death of the Ralston Communist church.
Survivors
Surviving are her husband, two children, Linda Sue and Steven Lloyd, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Anderson of Story City, two brothers, Arling Anderson of Luverne, Minn., and Sterling Anderson of Story City, and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Quam of Story City.
