Graveside Service Here Wednesday For A Former Nevadan

Graveside services will be held for Stephen W. McKearney, age 84 years, of Sioux City, on Wednesday, August 12th, at 2 p. m. at the Nevada Cemetery with Rev. Clair Shupe of the Nevada Methodist Church officiating.

McKearney died Sunday morning. Burial will be by the side of his wife and two children who preceded him in death.

McKearney was born August 4, 1880 at Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Canada and died at a nursing home in Sioux City August 9, 1964.

He came to the United States when a young man and worked at his trade as a tailor. He was married to Ida Pearle Boynton of Nevada in May of 1912 at Omaha, Neb. To this union were born three sons, Kenneth and William Wendell, who died at an early age, and Galen McKearney who resides in West Des Moines.

For many years McKearney had a tailoring and dry cleaning business at Dows and Holstein, Iowa, but for the past twenty years has been a resident of Sioux City, where he worked as a tailor in a department store, until his health failed in 1959.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Pearle, on May 17, 1939 and by his two sons, Kenneth and William Wendell, and his parents.

He is survived by his son, Galen, and two grandchildren Cheryl and Steven McKearney, all of West Des Moines.

He was a brother-in-law of Mrs. Hazel Hall and Mearl E. Hunt of Nevada.
