DEATH OF JOSEPH BRANNING

Had Been a Resident of Kelley for Many Years.

Kelley, March 26.--Funeral services form Joseph Nelson Branning, 76, were held from the home near Kelley Thursday, March 20, by Rev. Edward Duea of Slater after which interment was in the local cemetery.

Mr. Branning died at the home of his daughter at 3:30 Tuesday afternoon March 18, 1924, at the age of 76 year, 3 months and 1 day. He was born at Harrisburg, Wayne county, Penn., December 17, 1847.

It was on Christmas day, 1889 that Mr. Branning was united in marriage to Mary Wistenberg at Jamica, Iowa, and to this union three children were born they being Mrs. Lena Callahan of Ames, Harry C. Branning of Kelley and Mrs. Gertruce Noring of Kelley.

He became a member of the United Bresthren church at Jamica, 32 years ago and has kept his faith here.

He came to Kelley from Rockford, Ill. about 16 years ago and continued his home here until April 4 of last year, when he went off to make this his home with his daughter, Mrs. Noring on a farm near here.

He had been a sufferer from heart trouble for three years and about ten days before his death, took to his bed with complications set in that resulted in his death.

He leaves to mourn his death his wife, three children and eight grand children, besides one brother, Charles Branning of Rockford, Ill.

He had been a patient sufferer and while suffering he had always bourn up with a smile and was patient to the end.
