Death Wednesday of Long-Time Resident Of Story City
STORY CITY -- Mrs. Henry Hovland, the former Carrie Thorson, died at three o'clock Wednesday morning at the Story City hospital, where she had been a patient for six weeks. Mrs. Hovland was born in Norway, Europe Nov. 17, 1872 and had lived in Story City 68 years.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 in the Larson-Peterson funeral home and at two o'clock in the Immanuel Lutheran church with Rev. T. J. Alvestad, assisted by Rev. Ivar Havneros, officiating. Burial will be in the Story City cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, a resident of the Sunset Home; two daughters, Mrs. John Brattebo and Mrs. G. A. Brattebo, both of Story City; three sons, Harvey of Roland, Orville and Alvin, both of Webster City; three sisters, Mrs. Tillie Hermanson of Story City, Mrs. O. E. Thompson of Jewell and Mrs. Oliver Thompson of Paxton, Ill. and three brothers, Eric and Peter of Thorson of Story City and Elmer Thorson of Kanawha.
