Services Held In Story City Luth. For John M. Hauge

Funeral services for John Martin Hauge, 92, of Story City, were held Saturday, Dec. 15 at 2 p. m. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City with Pastor Harold T. Masted officiating.

"God's Love" was the theme of the meditation based on the test John 3:16. Solos, "Jesus Lover of My Soul," and "One Radiant Morn" were sung by Miss Lillian Alsager, accompanied by Miss Louise Olson, organist.

Pallbearers were Duane Johnson, Jerald Johnson Merle Johnson, Allan Johnson, James Longcor and Richard Taylor. Burial was in the Story City Memorial Cemetery.

Obituary

John Martin Hauge was born in Lisbon, Ill. on Oct. 16, 1870, the son of Ole Hauge and Sarah Nelson Hauge, and he died Dec. 13, at the age of 92 years, one month and 27 days. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church at Lisbon, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Millie and daughter Sadie. On March 14, 1907 he was united in marriage to Ellen Valine Thorson.

He spent his working years as a carpenter and farmer. He and his family moved to Story City in the spring of 1915. He spent the remaining yers of his life in this community.

He is survived by his wife, Ellen, and six children, two sons, Gardie of Canton, Ohio, and Ollie of Ontario, Calif., and four daughters, (Jeanette) Mrs. Milford Johnson of Ankeny, (Eleanor) Mrs. Arnold Swenson and (Jurine) Mrs. Charles Hunter, both of North Kansas City, Mo. and (Evelyn) Mrs. Philip Taylor of Homer, Mich.

He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and three brothers Tom, Severt and Merle Hauge of Morris, Ill.
