Rites Held In SC For Mrs. Hanson
Funeral services were held at the St. Petri Lutheran Church in Story City, Jan. 14, 1961 at 2 p.m. for Mrs. Tillie Hanson who died Jan. 11. The Rev. O. M. Seversike of Bethesda Lutheran Church of Ames officiated. Soloist was Mrs. Robert Hermanson with Mrs. Alfred Jacobson at the organ.
Burial was in the Story City Municipal cemetery. Casket bearers were Iver Egenes, John Ose, L. O. Jacobson, Morris Sloan, Victor Riley and Henry Bowers.
Tillie Marie Hanson, daughter of H. A. and Gunhild Anderson was born August 2, 1888 at Ellsworth, Iowa and lived her childhood days in Hamilton county. She was baptized and confirmed at the Salem Lutheran Church near Radcliffe, Iowa.
On March 8, 1911 she was married to Martin C. Hanson also of Ellsworth. Mr. and Mrs. Hanson lived in Story City for twenty two years, then they moved to Nevada where Mr. Hanson served as deputy and county sheriff. After living in Humboldt and Fort Dodge a number of years they moved to Ames where they were residing at the time of her death. They joined the Bethesda Lutheran Church on moving to Ames.
Mrs. Hanson underwent surgery Jan. 6, 1961 after being ill for several months. She apparently was making splendid recovery when her heart failed her. She died at Mary Greeley Hospital Jan. 11, 1961.
The Hansons were planning to celebrate their Golden Anniversary on March 8 of this year.
She was preceded in death by her parents and infant son.
She is survived by her husband, Martin, sister Anna, Mrs. Henry Iverson of Ames; brother, Henry Anderson of Mason City, Iowa; ten nieces and nephews and many relatives and friends.
