SUDDEN DEATH OF MRS. JULIA BORGEN

HAD BEEN RESIDENT OF NEVADA SINCE 1870--DIED EARLY TODAY

Mrs. Julia Borgen of 1222 Fifth street, died at an early hour today from the effects of diseased coronary arteries.

While Mrs. Borgen had not been feeling well for the past few days nothing alarming developed until Sunday when it became apparent that her condition was becoming serious and that afternoon she was moved from her home on Fifth street to that of her only daughter, Mrs. H. W. Bowers 1125 Eighth street, where she was under the constant care of Dr. Bowers and a trained nurse.

She passed away about 3:30, with her daughter, her three sons and two sisters and other members of the family at her bedside.

Mrs. Borgen had been a resident of Nevada since 1870 and was charter member of Memorial Lutheran church. The funeral will be held from that church Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 in charge of her pastor Dr. J. O. Simon. Interment will be in the Nevada cemetery by the side of her husband M. L. Borgen, who died March 1, 1915 and three children who had died in infancy.

The deceased was born at Trondhjem, Norway, Europe, September 14, 1854, her maiden name being Julia Jacobson. Her father dying, the mother married a second time, to Benjamin Olson, and Julia with other members of the family came to America when she was 16 years of age.

She came to Nevada in 1870 and was united in marriage to Martin L. Borgen in March 1873. Seven children were born to them, three of whom died in infancy. Those surviving are Lewis O. Borgen, Johnn R. Borgen, Clyde Borgen and Mrs. Grace Bowers.

She also leaves three sisters and one brother they being Mrs. Lena Stanerson of Estherville, O. B. Olson of Marshalltown, Mrs. Nettie Carlton of Washta and Miss Gertrude B. Olson of Nevada.

There are also eight grandsons to mourn her death.

Mrs. Borgen was a woman particularly devoted to her home and her family and one whose outside activities were few, other than her church duties.

Neighbors and friends who did enjoy her acquaintance counted her amount the very highest class of women. Kindly, charitable and forbearing in all things, she was a woman of fine character.
