Last Rites For Mrs. G. W. Habenicht Held On Wednesday

Margaret Habenicht, nee Dirksen passed away at the Grundy County Memorial hospital Monday, February 2, at 7:15 a.m. after an illness of over three months.

She was born near Alexander, Iowa, May 16, 1888. In 1914 she moved with her parents to Nevada, Iowa, where she lived until her marriage June 7, 1920 to Guy W. Habenicht.

Following her marriage she and her husband resided for two years in Keene, Texas, followed by a year at Nevada. In 1923 they moved to Lincoln, Nebraska, where Mr. Habenicht was connected with Union College, until 1941. Following two years in Chicago, Ill., They moved to Grundy Center, Iowa, where they lived since Sept. 1943.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Dirksen and four brothers, Henry, John, George, Cornelius. She is survived by her husband; two sisters, Anna Dirksen and Mrs. Lew Hansen of Nevada; three brothers, Oley of Ames, Rinehart of Pampa, Tex., and Herman of Rock Falls, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.

Last rites were held at the Grundy Center Methodist church on Wednesday Feb. 4, at 1 p.m. Rev. J. D. Smith, president of the Northern Union Conference of Seventh Day Adventists officiated. He was assisted by Rev. Le Roy Bowman, pastor of the Grundy Center Methodist church.

Interment was at the Nevada cemetery, Nevada, Iowa.

Friends attending from a distance were H. C. Hartman, Mrs. Hartman, Mrs. J. E. Stout, Mrs. Ed Ogden and Mrs. E. N. Dick, all of Lincoln, Nebraska and Mr. and Mrs. Gayle Farnam of Maquoketa, Iowa.
