Dr. Max Frazier Dies in Hospital In Ames Monday

Dr. Max C. Frazier, a retired Nevada dentist, died Monday afternoon at the Mary Greeley of a heart attack. Dr. Frazier, who had resided in Nevada for the past 26 years lived on Route 2, Nevada.

Dr. Frazier had been ill for some time and had recently undergone surgery.

He was born July 1, 1883 in Nevada, the son of James and Anna Frazier. He was a graduate of the University of Iowa School of Dental Surgery and after graduation he became a member of the faculty of that institution. He was also a member of the faculty of the Chicago College of Dental Surgery for several years.

During World War I, he served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Dental Corps.

He remained in the general practice of dentistry in Illinois and Iowa until his retirement in 1953. After his retirement he operated his farm near Nevada.

The deceased was married to Ione Smith Frazier on June 7, 1915 in Congregational Church in Oskaloosa, Ia. The wife, Ione, a son, James F. Frazier of Louisville, Ky. and two grandchildren, Thomas J. Frazier and Tavia Lee Frazier, both of Louisville survive. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

Dr. Frazier was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Elks, American Legion and Psi Omega Fraternity.

Funeral services will be held at the Ryan Funeral Home Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Frank P. Hladky officiating. The body will be cremated after which the graveside services in the Nevada Cemetery will be held at a later date.
