Funeral Rites Held Here for Miss Flo Goodin

Funeral rites for Miss Flo Goodin, 57, native daughter of Nevada, who died at her home in Muskogee, Oklahoma, Friday, March 3, were held Monday at the Morfoot Funeral home with Rev. O. E. Cooley of the Methodist church in charge. Burial followed in the family lot in the Nevada cemetery.

Flo Goodin, daughter of Ed and Viola Goodin, was born May 9, 1887 on the old Goodin homestead south of Nevada and passed away March 3, 1944 at the age of 57 years.

In 1899 the family moved to Nevada and lived in the old Leffingwell property, now owned by W. C. Foreman near the Rock Island depot. She graduated from the Nevada High school in 1905, and in 1906 moved with the family to Muskogee, Okla., where she entered a business college. Upon graduation she was employed in different offices, until going to work for the K. O. & G. Railroad, where she was employed at the time of her death, having been with the same company for a period of 34 years.

She was a member of the Methodist church of Nevada and upon moving to Oklahoma transferred her membership to the Methodist church there where she was superintendent of the primary department for over twenty years.

She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in which she was an active worker and was woman held in high regard by her acquaintances.

She will be remembered as among the less fortunate people of her acquaintances as a helpful and generous friend.
