The following brief sketch of her life was read during the service by Dr. Loose:

"Miss Emerson grew up on the farm, attending the schools of Milford township until she was 17. About 13 years ago, just prior to her father's death she together with her parents moved to Nevada which has since been her home. Miss Emerson never married, but always made her home with her parents, a companion to her mother following the death of the husband and father of the home.
"There are left to sorrow in her passing her mother, Mrs. Sadie Emerson, and four brothers, Elmer of Huxley, Walter H. of Des Moines, Lafe E. of Boone, and Alfred of Ames. There are also five nieces, Lizzie Sydnes of Huxley, Rose Emerson of Boone, Sarah Emerson of Chicago, and Wilma and Deloris Emerson of Nevada, two nephews, James Emerson of Boone and Dick Emerson of Nevada, and one grand niece, Maxine Sydnes of Huxley.
Miss Emerson was never very well or strong, and is the first among the children to be called in death. She was patient and of quiet and mild disposition, well-loved by those who knew her, herself possessing a loving nature. A large group of friends sorrow in her passing.
