Egemo Rites Held In Story City Church Saturday, July 13
Funeral services for Mrs. Martin (Tillie) were held in the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Story City at ten o'clock on Saturday morning, July 13. Pastor Harold T. Masted officiated. Mrs. Benjamin Anderson sang "Peace Like a River" and "Beyond the Sunset" with Miss Louise Olson at the organ.
Burial was made in the Story City Municipal Cemetery with Theroy Wierson, Arnold T. Ericson, Winfred Larson, Gifford Erickson, Jasper Erickson and Harvery Jorgenson serving as pall bearers.
Obituary
Tillie A. Egemo was born on Jan. 1, 1889 on a farm near Story City. She died at the Story City Memorial Hospital on July 10 at the age of 74 years, 6 months and 9 days. She had been a resident of Bethany Manor in Story City since February 16, 1960.
Her parents were the late Erick and Carrie Erickson. She was baptized in the St. Petri Lutheran Church and confirmed in the Immanuel Lutheran Church by Pastor T. T. Heimarck. On Feb. 17, 1910 she was united in marriage to Martin Egemo. To this union three children were born: Sanford, Elvina (Mrs. Jeffrey Townswick) and Truman, all of Story City. She was preceded in death by her husband on Nov. 28, 1958 and by her parents and six brothers.
Survivors include the three children, eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. Also two brothers, Leonard and Nelford Erickson of Carpio, N.D., and four sisters, Julia (Mrs. Alfred Peterson) of Carpio, N. D., Lyla (Mrs. Kermit Mason) of East Grand Forks, Minn., Mrs. Alma Rutter of Oakland, Calif. and Mrs. Agnes Anderson of Story City.
Prayer services were held at Bethany Manor on Friday morning, July 12 at ten o'clock with Pastor Pernie C. Pederson in charge. The choral group of the home sang, "Beautiful Savior."
