DORA BOLLEN JOHNSON

STORY CITY--Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon August 6 at two o'clock in the Grace Evangelical Brethren Church in Story City for Mrs. Dora Johnson. Rev. W. D. Winter officiated.

Miss Sandra Jensen sang sacred selections and Mrs. Dorrell Doolittle served at the church organ. Interment was made in the Story City Cemetery.

Casket bearers were Richard and Donald Munsen, Clarence DeYoung, Magne Idse, Truman Egenes and Richard Peterson.

Life Sketch

Mrs. Dora Johnson was born in Lyons, Iowa on March 9, 1881 the daughter of Henry and Juliana Bollen. It was in the community of her birth that she spent her youth and grew to womanhood. On Aug. 16, 1909, she was united in marriage to Lew Johnson of Story City.

They resided in Chicago for a number of years, a short time in Ames, then came to Story City where Lew was in the plumbing business, later going into the grocery business. Her husband preceded her in death on January 4, 1942.

Dora Johnson was a member of Grace Evangelical United Brethren Church, Story City and also of the ECK Club. After a lingering illness, she passed away last Saturday evening, August 3 at the Story City Hospital.

Surviving are two nieces, Mrs. Jerome Schiffman of Miles and Mrs. J. L. Chapman of San Diego, Calif.; one nephew, William Craig of New York, N. Y. and a host of friends.
