OBITUARY

Burial of an old Resident of Story County.

Mrs. Lavina Bennett, formerly of Union township, was buried here Sunday, she having died on October 16 in Santa Clara, California, where she had been residing with a daughter for several years. She was nearly 84 years of age. Her husband, who was considerably her senior, died at about the same age in Union township twenty years or so ago Her son and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Bennet of Jefferson, had recently visited the venerable mother at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. C. Waters in California, and on reaching their home in Jefferson they had been met with the telegram announcing the death and that Mrs. W. C. Waters was on the way with the remains to Nevada. The Bennets united with the C. D. Barker family and other friends of Union township in two burial rite at the Cemetery in Nevada on Sunday.
