Former Slater Supt., C. M> Bartrug, 60, Dies at Iowa Falls

C. M. Bartrug,, 60, former Iowa Falls superintendent of schools, died of a heart attack at his home Saturday.

Superintendent of school in Iowa Falls from 1928 to 1945, Bartrug had operated an insurance agency since 1945. He suffered the fatal attack while working in his yard.

Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2 o'clock in Iowa Falls with burial in the Nevada cemetery.

Prior to coming to Iowa Falls, Bartrug had served as superintendent of schools at Van Cleve, Ferguson and Slater. He had children on safety education. One graded series has been used in schools in several states.

He was a World War I veteran, a Mason and a member of the Congregational church. Survivors include his wife, Helen, and two daughters, Jean and Geniece, both of Iowa Falls.

Mrs. Bartrug is the former Miss Helen Proctor of Nevada, niece of R. A. Robison, West E avenue. Attending the funeral in Iowa Falls today were R. A. Robison, Mr. and Mrs. Forest Robison, Mrs. Clay Robison and Mrs. Edith Robison.
